There are 53 commonwealth nations. 15 of them still have the queen as the head of state. Barbados was the latest to remove the Queen.
There are many types of Republics. Ours will be similar to the United States of America. This will Effectively remove the King as Sovereign Head of the Bahamas.
Cabinet positions may be appointed from the general public by the President on approval by the senate. This allows the best professionals to serve as ministers (secretaries) without being soiled by the political process.
A Member of Parliament recall system will be passed into law
In order to truly empower the workers of this nation we will create a government Ministry called The Ministry of Unions. This gives the unions a seat at the cabinet table.
We will amend the law to empower the Director of Public Prosecutions to prosecute all matters without going though the Attorney General. This includes the power to prosecute politicians.
To ensure separation of powers the following branches will have separate independent budgets for The Police Commissioner & Judicial Branch.
A proper Freedom of Information Act will keep the government honest. All documents, treaties etc. signed by government will be publicized. No more secret deals. Where companies need to protect their patents and other sensitive information, that portion of the document can be redacted.
Whistle Blower Act
Whistle Blower Act will make any person who exposes corruption a Millionaire. We will create an aggressive, well trained, well-funded Anti-Corruption Agency. We will create an internal affairs unit that will monitor corruption in all uniformed Branches.
Island States
We will pass legislation to transform our family islands into Island States. The success of the United States of America is not that it is one nation but that it is many nations in one. Europe followed this model by creating the European Union.
The implementation of Island States will decentralize each government and give Islands autonomy over their affairs. It is our view that Politicians in New Providence could not give the necessary justice of governance to the Family Islands as those that live on these islands and therefore know what they need. No longer will any family islander have to bargain with or beg any MP for any contract or change in their constituency. They will be empowered to make the necessary changes themselves. This allows each government to control its own economy.
Larger Island economies Like New Providence, Grand Bahama, Abaco, etc will be Island States. Smaller economies like MICAL will come together with other small economies to become a State. The revenue made in the state stays in the state. A royalty from the states will be sent to the central government and added to the sovereign wealth fund. The States will create and manage their own budgets.
We believe that each Island States would have economies to rival Bermuda, Barbados the Turks and Caicos or Jamaica. Each Island State will have a Governor similar to that of a mayor.
City Government
States will be divided into Districts also known as Cities. Each city will have a Chairman and a board (now called a township). The Chairman will be responsible for chairing the Board, whom are responsible for creating and managing the budget for their City. This budget will be submitted to the Island State council. Each State will have a Council.
The Island State Council will comprise of The following:
Every constituent of the city who voted in the prior election will have a seat and a vote on the council. All elections must be nonpartisan. Only persons residing in a district or state may be elected. Meetings may take place in person or via video.
The Role of the City Board and Council will be as follows:
Procurement
We will form a Department of National Procurement. They will manage procurement for all government agencies. This allows for bulk purchases that can result in discounts. All government departments will place their orders on the online portal. The order will be delivered or can be collected from a central warehouse
Technology
We will use technology as a tool to create efficiency and empower citizens. The power of Technology will be harnessed to combat corruption and reduce the power of the PM and MPs.
Constituency Mobile App
Each constituency will have a Mobile App for its residents. The App will be secured on the Block Chain. Each voter will be registered on the App. Voters will be able to securely vote on bills that will be tabled in the House of Assembly. This way the MPs know the will of the people.
The App will allow persons to Schedule meetings with their MP; No more avoiding constituents. Constituents will Be able to use the App to report potholes, blown street lights, missing signs or other issue directly from the app. They can send a picture and GPS location. A Job and Skills portal will be on the App that will allow persons to offer their services and hire professionals on the App.
The App will send Push Notifications to residents with updates, news or warnings. This App will be utilized by the community as an emergency coordination App in times of disaster.
Procurement App
The government has created a procurement portal that has many flaws and loop holes. We will create a portal that is fully transparent and ends corruption.
Using the Mobile App or Website Bahamians will be able to see all government contracts that are available. Including the full bidding process;
How contracts will be issued
Each company will have a profile which includes their rank and status. The rank will be determined by your job history. You will be ranked higher if previous jobs were done on time and on budget.
You cannot bid if your business taxes, license fees etc. are unpaid.
The bidding process will be managed and issued by an algorithm. This eliminates the possibility of nepotism and corruption of human involvement. The algorithm will choose the winner based on the following criteria:
A small percentage of low risk jobs will go to new companies in a lottery process that will give young and up and coming Bahamians a chance to build a track record. If your name is connected to another company you will not be eligible for the lottery.
Failure to honor the terms and conditions agreed upon will result in removal from the List of Approved Vendors. The entire process will be public and in real time. The days of a few corrupt cronies getting the contracts are over! The days of contracts given as repayment for campaign contributions are over!
The City Government will have a Board who will determine the priority and use of monies derived from the island economy and will filter matters of purchase, labor and priority based on Principle as written in Policy NOT Politics.
Government Accounting System
The public will be able to view government accounting transactions in real time via mobile app and website (Including Bank account Balances). Progress of all government applications will be able to be monitored online such as a Building permit application. You will be able to see where your application is throughout the process.

This identification will be your Black Card. What does that mean? You will only need One Card for all government issued ID's & to access your Sovereign Wealth Fund Account. That Black Card will be your:
